Hon. ZAKARI MOHAMMED As a Lagislator-Legislative Interventions

As a legislator, I serve as a representative to the people and members of my constituency. I also 

participate in making laws that promote the common good.

As a member of the Federal House of Representatives in the 7th Assembly, I served as Chairman 

- House Committee on Media and Public Affairs between 2011-2015. From the year 2015 till now, 

I I have served as Chairman - House Committee on Basic Education and Services. I am also the 

Chairman, Ad-Hoc Committee on Investigation of Oil Swap Agreements. 

In each of these roles, I have raised motions, presented bills and engaged in robust debate to pass 

laws that will deepen our democracy for generations to come.

I have engaged the local, state and federal government on key areas of development in my 

constituency. These areas include education, water, health, agriculture and empowerment through 

skills acquisition. 

On a personal level, I strive to touch the lives of families and communities in my constituency who 

have needed someone to stand and speak for them. 

There remains much to be done and I am committed to relentless service and representation that 4
